4. Confirm Fee and Arrange Payment
Review the Fire Prevention Bureau Fee Schedule before submitting payment. Fees vary by system type, protected area, and scope of work.
For alarm and sprinkler projects with protected areas over 4,000 square feet, email permits@eastgrandfire.com to confirm the fee before paying.
Payment options include checks and eligible electronic payments. Visit the Fire Prevention Fees page for payment instructions and available options. Electronic payments are subject to processing fees.
TURNAROUND TIMES
Plan reviews generally take approximately one week, excluding weekends and holidays. Review times may vary depending on project complexity, submittal completeness, and current workload.
REVIEW LETTERS AND PERMIT CONDITIONS
Read your plan review letter and permit conditions carefully. These documents identify project-specific requirements, corrections, and inspection information.
Submitting an application or paying a fee does not, by itself, establish approval. Confirm your permit status and any conditions before beginning installation.
CHANGES AND REVISIONS
If the scope or design changes during your project, email permits@eastgrandfire.com to determine whether revised plans or additional review are needed. Include the project address and a description of the proposed changes.
OTHER REQUIRED APPROVALS
An EGFD permit does not replace approvals required by the applicable building department or other reviewing agencies. Contractors are responsible for coordinating any additional permits and approvals applicable to their work.
