Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

NOT allowed:

• Open fires outside developed recreation areas.
• Smoking unless you are inside a vehicle or building, in a developed campground or picnic area, or in a cleared 6-foot area with no burnable material.
• Using a chainsaw without an approved working spark arrestor.
• Welding or using open-flame torches unless you are in a cleared 10-foot area with no burnable material.
• Using incendiary devices, except legal fireworks.

Violations may result in a $1,000 fine per offense.

Allowed:

• Fires in developed, hosted campgrounds or picnic areas with permanent fire grates or charcoal grills.
• Liquid or gas-fueled stoves, lanterns, heaters, and approved wood pellet grills or stoves.
• Fires at private homes in outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, chimineas, or grills.
• Legal fireworks under state law, including permitted professional fireworks displays in Grand County.
