STR Inspection Renewals

 

The Short-Term Rental (STR) Inspection Renewal Permit provides eligible property owners with a streamlined renewal option when no changes have been made to the property since the most recent Fire & Life Safety Inspection.

Who Qualifies?

You may apply for an STR Inspection Renewal if all of the following criteria are met:

  1. A Fire & Life Safety Inspection was completed within the last 12 months.
  2. You have a valid Certificate of Compliance issued by East Grand Fire.
  3. The property continues to meet the following safety standards:
      • No renovations or additions have been performed on the property.
      • No change of ownership has occurred.
      • Fire extinguishers are a minimum of 2A:10B:C rating and located one per floor. They are also mounted and accessible (if placed behind a closet/cabinet door, a label is placed on door).
      • Smoke Detectors are within 10 years of manufacture date and batteries are replaced.
      • CO Detectors are within 5 years of manufacture date and located one per floor.
      • Emergency Window Egress in all bedrooms remain operational and unobstructed.
      • Fireplaces have been maintained and cleaned. Combustible material is stored away from ignition sources.
      • Electrical Panels remain accessible and unobstructed with breakers labeled and empty slots covered with appropriate filler plates.

Submission Requirements

Applicants must upload a valid Certificate of Compliance issued within the last 12 months from the most recent Fire & Life Safety Inspection.

Application and Fee

  1. Log in to your Community Connect portal page.
  2. Apply for an STR Inspection Renewal Permit and follow the prompts.

RENEWAL FEE: $100

Permit

After reviewing your Application, previous Inspection, and Certificate of Compliance, we will issue you a one-time “Declaration of Continued Compliance” valid for 12 months.

Please Note: A new Fire & Life Safety Inspection will be required for your next renewal period!
